I did this piece shortly after the Dr. Manhattan in Vietnam one, but it's taken me this long to complete it. Rorschach is such a complex character that I wanted the mood to fit. I'm from New York so I didn't need a reference pic for the skyline, but I did of course look a bit at the graphic novel.
Initially I was unhappy with the color and tones of the skyline as it came out in my sketchbook, so when I scanned it I changed it up a bit. I also had an inner debate about how to crop the image, and since I couldn't really come up with a solution I have presented the entire (well, 97%) image. |
